Detailed images released of new homes

Five star housebuilders David Wilson Homes and Barratt Homes have released the first detailed images of the new homes being built at Wichelstowe, the landmark development south of Swindon.

Canalside @ Wichelstowe will feature a mix of 208 apartments and houses with the new developments launching this autumn and the first residents set to move in during 2020.

David Wilson Homes sales director Louise Ware said the designs showcase the five star quality and style of the housebuilder and include the three bedroom Greenwood design, the four bedroom Parkin and the Wichel Stray – a design which will be built overlooking the canal.

“We are delighted to be launching images of how the new homes will look,” said Louise. “Wichelstowe is creating a great deal of interest and with the development now starting to take shape buyers can see how wonderfully these new homes will fit around the canal setting.”

The show homes will be the Greenwood, Parkin and Wichel Stray designs which Louise said would really give buyers a sense of the community being created at Wichelstowe.

“These designs have been created to provide a vibrant mix of homes for buyers and we look forward to unveiling the new homes later this year,” she said.

Barratt Homes sales director Andrea Pilgrim said the images of its homes really demonstrate how the designers have worked hard to create homes which look attractive and are perfect for a wide range of lifestyles.

“These images show the style, quality and attention to detail that buyers can expect at Wichelstowe and we are looking forward to welcoming our first visitors later this year.”

Barratt Homes has unveiled images of the canalside apartments currently being built together with the three bedroom Maidstone and four bedroom Chester design.

“The mix is perfect for the wide range of people who have already shown interest in the new homes with apartments and houses in our first phase of development, added Andrea.

Wichelstowe is being delivered by a joint venture company which is a 50:50 partnership between Swindon Borough Council and Barratt Developments plc. Over the next 20 years, the Wichelstowe Joint Venture will deliver around 3,000 new homes on a 250-hectare area of land. Wichelstowe, which will have an extensive area of open space featuring playing pitches, allotments and nature conservation, will include three primary schools and a secondary school.
