Details have been released of the first homes due to be built by Wichelstowe LLP at Wichelstowe, the landmark new housing development south of Swindon.
Five star housebuilders Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes have just released the site plans of the first homes which will be available showing a mix of apartments and houses designed to appeal to a wide range of buyers. The first residents will be able to move in next year.
The first phase of development is named Canalside @ Wichelstowe with homes set to be built alongside the restored Wilts and Berks canal.
It’s in a prime location, situated next to the canal and within walking distance of Waitrose supermarket, the Hall and Woodhouse pub and the secondary school, which is due to open this September.
Barratt Homes sales director Andrea Pilgrim said it will be creating contemporary one and two bedroom apartments together with three and four bedroom homes which are set to appeal to a wide range of buyers.
“It’s evident that there’s real pent up demand to live at Wichelstowe and we are delighted to be releasing information on these new homes.
“Not only will the development feature the very best designs in contemporary homes but there’s also a real focus on living in harmony with the environment with a terrific amount of open space.”
David Wilson Homes will be releasing two, three and four bedroom homes in its first phase of development with a contemporary design and surrounded by large areas of open space.
Louise Ware, the sales director of David Wilson Homes, said: “The on-site marketing suite will open for business in the next couple of months. Buyers can register their interest now to be among the first to hear about the new homes due to be launched and the opportunity to reserve a home off plan before the official opening.”
Wichelstowe, on a 250-hectare area of land, will deliver around 3,000 new homes over the next 20 years and includes two primary schools, a secondary school and an extensive area of open space.
For commuters there is easy access to the M4 motorway, which is just a 10-minute drive. Alternatively, Swindon train station is just under 3 miles away.
The scheme is being delivered by a joint venture company which is a 50:50 partnership between Swindon Borough Council and Barratt Developments plc.
