The Council is a step closer to introducing the permanent closure of Mill Lane, required by the planning consent for Wichelstowe, after having now agreed with the developers the detail of the works required to close the road to motor vehicles. Formal consultation was carried out in 2019.
The works are planned to start on 26th April 2021 and will include the introduction of a turning head and the placement of barriers.
Once works are complete the route will re-open as a footway/cycleway only. Access to the properties along this section of Mill Lane will be from the south (Wichelstowe) only.
